Word of advice – if you’re hiring a car from Honolulu airport, or from Waikiki itself, make sure you turn off ‘no-tolls’ on Google Maps/Apple Maps. Apparently there is quite an efficient route from South Oahu to North Shore via a very hard to miss freeway…
From Waikele Outlets heading toward North Shore, we had a pleasant drive through Waipo, Miliani, Wahiawa… trailing the freeway the entire trip. Either way good to see, just want to save someone else the frustration!
